If you’re using WordPress on your website, you may be wondering how to disable comments. Whether you’re trying to avoid spam, keep your site professional, or are simply tired of dealing with comments, here’s how to make this simple change. Disabling comments isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Depending on your situation, you may be better off turning them off altogether. If so, here are a few reasons why.
First of all, you must ensure that you’re in a position to make changes in WordPress. To do this, you need to access the Settings page of your website. To disable comments on specific posts, pages, or media, navigate to Settings > Discussion. Next, clear the option entitled Allow people to post comments on new posts. Individual settings override default settings of posts, so you need to check the box in each specific case. Once you’ve done this, click Save Changes. Alternatively, you can disable comments on individual posts or pages manually.
Next, enable the Discussion section of your website by hovering your mouse cursor over the title of a page and clicking the three dots icon that appears on the top right. From there, you need to click on the Discussion box and enable it, or uncheck it. You’ll also need to check the Discussion meta box in the right-hand sidebar. Then, click OK. Finally, you can see the settings in the Settings page.
