If you are stuck at a point in your editing process, you may be wondering how to set a page on your WordPress website as the homepage. Perhaps you’ve already installed your WordPress theme and want to make it look like the preview. Or you may simply want to make a page on your WordPress site not be visible at all. Whatever the case may be, there are a few options that will let you do just that.
Depending on your website’s needs, you can customize the WordPress homepage using HTML, PHP, or CSS. Each WordPress theme has different files called templates, which determine which parts of your site display on the home page. You can make these files more or less flexible depending on the purpose of the page. If you want a static home page, for example, you can select a page from your website’s archives and change the default homepage settings accordingly.
To change the front page of your site, you need to go to Appearance on the WordPress admin dashboard. Theme customization tools are available in the Appearance area of the dashboard. Oftentimes, themes have a default setting of the homepage, and you can change this setting in the Customizer. Some themes only have basic customization options, while others offer tons of customization options. Select the right option for your website, and click Save Changes.
