How to Use the WordPress Linking Tool

If you’ve ever wondered how to properly link your WordPress posts and pages, you’re not alone. WordPress has a built-in feature that allows you to save external links and put them into categories. This allows you to edit and add links before you publish them. To edit a link, you simply click on the pencil icon and click the apply button. To view a list of links, click on the Manage Links sub-panel. The list shows you the name of the link, the description (in bold), and the URL. If the link does not go to its destination, WordPress is unable to detect it.

Using the WordPress linking tool makes creating internal links easier. If you use the Classic Editor interface, you can find the content you wish to hyperlink in the dashboard and highlight it. Once you’ve highlighted the text, you can click on the link tool menu button to paste the URL. In the new window, you can see your link. You can also change the color of the text to make it more distinguishable. A link should be visible on a page or post, and should be accompanied by a title.

Another way to organize your links is to create categories. Each category should contain a post. If you’re using categories, you can list posts from one category to another using the links in the other. In the same way, you can use tags to group posts in a particular category. For example, if you have a category called “blogging,” you can create a new tag for it and link to all of your posts with the same name.
